Add On Domain – Run Multiple Websites From A Single Hosting Plan

If your web hosting supports it, you can easily run multiple websites from a single web hosting plan. This means that you don't need to have separate web hosting for each website you run, but instead you can run all your sites under a single hosting account. This makes use of something called Add-on Domains, and they're very easy to set up. Let me show you how!

Here are some additional links and resources mentioned in today's tutorial. Enjoy!

  • In order to run a new site under an existing hosting plan, you'll first need to register a new domain name. If you haven't done this yet, and if you'd like a step-by-step guide, check out my post Easy Steps To Set Up Your Business Website Address Using NameCheap.
  • In this tutorial, I mention seeing the file structure of your website when you connect via FTP. The tutorial that I'm referring to is called Connecting To Your Web Hosting Hub Hosted Website Using FTP. The process is similar with other web hosts.
  • Now that you've set up a second website under your hosting plan, the next thing you'll need to do is point your domain to your web hosting account. This process is slightly different depending on which web host you're using. If you'd like a hand with the process, and you're using Web Hosting Hub, I've gotcha covered right here. Or if you're using SiteGround, head over here.

Hope you enjoyed. See ya next time!
