I HATE my 50lb kettlebell. The only think I hate more than my kettlebell is swinging my kettlebell...and I do that very frequently. My kettlebell is my 50lb enemy. And you know what? He has a side-kick and co-conspirator...
Here are links and resources mentioned in today's video. Enjoy!
And that is, the voice in my head. We all have it. That voice isn't you -- it's the voice of your enemy...soothingly convincing you that you shouldn't bother today. Maybe tomorrow instead.
My only objective whenever these two enemies -- my kettlebell and the voice in my head -- stand in front of me is to CRUSH them...to pulverize them into submission and send them scurrying back under the rock they crawled out from under.
Wanna know what the secret is? Don't think about it. Don't ponder. Don't reason. Don't delay. Simply DESTROY. And here's why:
Given an ounce of a chance, the voice in your head will convince you otherwise. See the thing is, we all work really hard to avoid pain -- that is, the things we don't want to do -- and then to rationalize our avoidance later.
But hiding on the other side of the things we don't want to do (that we know we really should do) are the results in life we want so badly. All you have to do is get yourself to do it.
Save the conversation with yourself about all the reasons NOT to do it until AFTER you've done it. Just do it -- Do the things you don't want to do -- do the things you LEAST want to do -- that you KNOW will take you closer to where you really want to be.
There's a war in your head and your mind is the battlefield. And guess what? Top performers hate it just as much as you do...but they do it anyway.
